HVNN Features Good Reasons Founder During National Disability Employment Awareness Month
By Donna Reyer , Hudson Valley News Network – Observed in October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) is a nationwide campaign that raises awareness about disability employment and honors the many diverse contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.
Last week at Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library, more than 20 regional employers were honored by the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Mid-Hudson Employment Alliance and New York State ACCES/VR.
One of the key note speakers was Chef Anthony Legname, Campus Executive Chef of Sodexo at Marist College. Chef Legname who also mentors at the Culinary Institute of America and at the Culinary Training Institute, said, “I found the disabled to have a willingness to learn, eagerness to please and they are able to accomplish most projects set in front of them. In my mentoring of these individuals, and there have been dozens of them, I’ve only had one that was not able to continue in their position- a pretty good track record.”
