Good Reasons Goes German for Oktoberfest
North Salem, NY (October 1, 2014) – It’s time to pull out your dirndl and lederhosen for Bear Mountain Inn’s Oktoberfest – the Hudson Valley’s premier Fall Festival including German food and beer, entertainment, craft vendors and much more. Join Good Reasons™ this Sunday, October 5 from noon-6 pm at the Bear Mountain Inn, located at 99 Service Road, Bear Mountain, New York, for a Bavarian themed day.
Good Reasons™ is a dog treat company on a mission. As the newest social enterprise of Westchester-based provider of social services, Community Based Services, Inc. (CBS), Good Reasons™ was created to provide employment for people with autism and other disabilities in an integrated work environment. Unleashing love and potential in every bite. With its baking and packing facilities located in the heart of the mid-Hudson Valley in Poughkeepsie, NY, Good Reasons™ is thrilled to join the acclaimed Hudson Valley festival as a vendor with some fall specialties of their own – for the four-legged crowd, of course.
Proudly displaying and selling their human-grade treats of a variety of natural ingredients including fall favorites like applesauce and pumpkin puree, Good Reasons™ will be highlighting their well-to-do mission, offering information on how other businesses can join the movement to provide employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. “We’re really lucky to have already made it into 17 retail stores since launching in July. The more treats we sell the more people we can employ, which is really our main goal,” says Vicki Sylvester, PhD, and Founder of Good Reasons™.
Bear Mountain Inn’s Oktoberfest will feature live music from Bobby Heckman & The Royal Bavarians, vendors, and good old-fashioned German fun. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the Hudson Valley during the peak fall foliage season while throwing back a few steins of beer. Good Reasons™ and Bear Mountain Inn encourages the public to participate responsibly, use public transportation, or a designated driver, if necessary.
